ABS sheet is a high-performance thermoplastic panel widely favored by manufacturers in thermoforming, safety protection and general industrial sectors, valued for its balanced toughness, stable dimensional performance and outstanding vacuum forming capability. When heated to an appropriate temperature, ABS becomes soft and ductile, enabling tight mold fitting under vacuum pressure without tearing, uneven thinning or springback after cooling, which provides a solid foundation for its extensive application scenarios.
The most prominent application of our ABS sheets lies in serving as a cost-effective test material for Kydex vacuum forming. Given the high raw material cost of Kydex alloy plates, direct use of Kydex for debugging machine parameters, testing molds and verifying forming processes is uneconomical. PVC is not a viable alternative due to its mismatched softening temperature and stretch characteristics. In contrast, ABS has nearly consistent thermoforming curves with Kydex. Our 1.5mm, 2.5mm and other custom-thickness ABS sheets can fully simulate the forming state of 1.6mm and 2.4mm Kydex. Factories can complete all pre-production trials using low-cost ABS, thereby significantly reducing sample loss and test expenses before mass production of finished Kydex products such as tactical sheaths, equipment housings and protective liners.
Another major core application is the mass production of safety helmets. ABS exhibits excellent impact resistance and crack resistance, which can effectively buffer external collision forces to protect users' heads, meeting the safety standards for industrial safety helmets, motorcycle helmets and sports protective helmets. Its smooth and uniform surface facilitates easy printing, spraying, polishing and texture treatment, allowing manufacturers to efficiently customize logo patterns and color appearances.
In addition to the two key applications mentioned above, ABS sheets are also used in the production of vacuum-formed packaging trays, equipment control panels, luggage shells and decorative parts. Characterized by lightweight, weather resistance and ease of cutting, bending and post-processing, our multi-thickness ABS sheets are suitable for both small sample testing and large-scale batch manufacturing, providing reliable and economical material solutions for all thermoforming-related production lines.
