In our past service cases, an impressive client was a company engaged in the production of PET printed folding boxes. At the beginning of our collaboration, due to the client’s long-term focus on paper material printing, they were relatively unfamiliar with the printing characteristics of PET plastic materials. In reality, PET materials are far more challenging to print than paper materials, which led to a series of subsequent process issues.
The first problem encountered was film delamination during the printing process, which resulted in abnormal wear of the rubber blanket and even led to related compensation claims. Through extensive internal coordination and cooperation within the company, we made multiple visits to the client’s site for problem analysis. By repeatedly adjusting the film adhesion, optimizing process parameters, and incorporating adjustments to the client’s pre-treatment precautions, we ultimately managed to resolve this issue. Subsequently, another problem emerged: insufficient local adhesion in printing. Again, through continuous on-site investigations and root cause analysis by the team, we identified the source and implemented an effective solution.
The root cause of these issues lay in the client’s initial tendency to simply equate PET material with paper printing processes, failing to fully recognize the significant differences in physical properties and printability between the two materials. Although the current order volume has decreased, both parties have maintained a long-term and stable cooperative relationship.
From serving this client, we have summarized the following key insights: First, it is essential to respond promptly to client feedback and prioritize on-site investigations. Second, when addressing complex technical problems, emphasis should be placed on teamwork and the integration of company resources to avoid working in isolation. These experiences have also provided valuable reference for serving similar clients transitioning to new materials in the future. Suzhou Ocan Polymer Materials Co., Ltd., with over twenty years of experience, is committed to meeting customer requirements and providing high-quality services.
