Every summer, as temperatures climb across Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta, the heat inside a PVC manufacturing facility becomes one of the most demanding working conditions in industrial production. Our extrusion lines, calendering machines, and lamination equipment run continuously — and so do our people.
At Suzhou Ocan Polymer Material Co., Ltd., we believe that world-class PVC products are only possible because of world-class workers. This summer, we want to take a moment to recognize the dedication of our production team — and share the concrete steps we take to make sure every person on our factory floor stays cool, healthy, and cared for.
Our Summer Care Program: What We Do for Our Team
We have invested significantly in cooling systems across our production buildings:
Industrial evaporative air coolers
● are installed at key workstations throughout the production floor, providing a constant flow of cool air directly to workers at their posts.
High-volume ceiling fans and exhaust ventilation systems
● run continuously during operating hours to promote air circulation and remove heat generated by machinery.
Insulated roofing with heat-reflective coatings
Staying hydrated is non-negotiable in a hot manufacturing environment. Our commitment:
Free chilled drinking water
● is available at every production zone throughout the day, with dispensers restocked regularly by our logistics team.
Herbal cooling drinks

are prepared and distributed to all production workers twice daily during peak summer months — a traditional and effective measure our team genuinely appreciates.
Mung bean soup
● a classic Chinese summer remedy for internal heat relief, is served in the canteen daily throughout July and August.
At the start of each summer season, all production staff complete a mandatory summer safety briefing covering:
● Early recognition of heat exhaustion and heatstroke symptoms
● Correct hydration practices during physical work
● How to use the cooling facilities and when to request a rest break
● Emergency response procedures for heat-related incidents
Good nutrition is part of heat resilience. Our factory canteen team adjusts the summer menu specifically:
● Lighter, easier-to-digest meals during the hottest hours
● Increased proportion of cooling foods such as cucumber, winter melon, and lotus root
● Reduced heavy or high-fat options at lunch to prevent post-meal fatigue
● Fresh seasonal fruit provided as afternoon refreshments
