Today, we would like to introduce our rigid PET products for food packing usage. Many customers choose PET for making cake boxes.
We will introduce the PET used to make cake boxes in detaisl as follows:
1. Thickness (Gauge): This is the most significant factor. PET sheet thickness is usually measured in microns (μm) or millimeters (mm).
Common Thicknesses for Cake Boxes: 200μm (0.2mm) to 500μm (0.5mm). Thinner sheets are for simple lids or less structural support, while thicker sheets are for sturdy, high-end boxes or bases.
Impact on Price: Thicker material uses more raw resin, thus costing more per unit area.
2. Quantity (Volume): Price is highly dependent on order volume.
Small Batch/Sample Order: Buying a few sheets or a small pack, if this suitation, unit price will be higher.
Large Volume Order: Purchasing by the pallet load or a full container quantity, this price will be better and cost-effective.
3. Sheet Size and Format: hot sale sheets in standard sizes (e.g., 1000mm x 700mm, 1220mmx2440mm, 915mmx1830mm... ). Custom-sized is also accepted. However, if the sheet size is very small, there will be cutting fees.
4.Material Grade:
Virgin PET: Made from new, unused raw materials. This is required for direct food contact to ensure purity and clarity. It is more expensive.
Recycled PET (rPET): While available, its use in direct food contact is highly regulated and less common for high-clarity applications like cake boxes. It might be used for non-food layers or non-food packaging.
5.Additional Properties:
Anti-Fog Coating: Essential for cake boxes to prevent condensation from obscuring the view of the product. This adds a premium to the cost.
