Common plastic box materials mainly include polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). When selecting plastic packaging box materials, differentiation and choice can be made based on the following aspects:
PET material: A food-grade, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic material with high transparency, strong tensile strength, and resistance to deformation. It has good cold and heat resistance and is a recyclable material, making it environmentally friendly. Suitable for food packaging boxes and blister packaging. (Standard PET material can withstand temperatures from -10°C to 55°C, while cold-resistant PET can endure -15°C, and heat-resistant PET can withstand up to 60°C.)
PP material: A food-grade, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic material with options for matte/glossy/oblique texture finishes. It has a semi-transparent appearance, is lightweight, and offers a good tactile feel. It exhibits excellent wear resistance and strong flexibility (disadvantage: insufficient rigidity). Suitable for packaging food and daily-use items.
PVC material: A non-environmentally friendly and toxic material with relatively high transparency. It offers good corrosion resistance and weather resistance, as well as excellent plasticity. Suitable for packaging transparent items and blister packaging, but not suitable for food packaging.
In summary, PVC has good mechanical and chemical properties; PET offers excellent transparency and tensile strength; while PP has a lower density and better flexibility.
